2019 Nissan Maxima Review

2019 Nissan Maxima

Looking for a family friendly sedan that also doubles as your sometimes sports car? At Faulkner Nissan of Harrisburg, we understand people who drive around the Harrisburg, Carlisle, York, and Mechanicsburg areas. They need a car that enjoys long stretches of rural Pennsylvania’s highways as much as trafficked city streets. That’s why we went ahead and wrote a review on the Nissan Maxima, a car we can’t stop talking about.

For the 2019 Maxima, one powerful and reliable engine is offered. Coming standard with the Nissan Xtronic CVT® (Continuously Variable Transmission) is a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 300 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque. This configuration gives the driver enough power to accelerate quickly in the left lane without hurting the Maxima vehicle’s MPG, which averages an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 20 city/30 highway/24 combined MPG.*

An enthusiast driver will appreciate the effort Nissan has put into the Xtronic CVT®. During harder acceleration, the transmission mimics the shifting traits of a typical automatic transmission. For those who enjoy the feeling of shifting, this feature allows for it while using an updated transmission. The get-up-and-go quality that has been a consistent staple of the Maxima hasn’t gone anywhere.

With a fairly rigid suspension, especially in the SR trim, it handles quite nimbly and predictably. When it comes to driving modes, the 2019 Nissan Maxima has two: Normal and Sport. It’s your personal preference to choose, as both will feel acceptable for everyday driving. Overall, turning the car is fluid and linear when moving, and heavier while stopped or moving at parking speeds.

The Maxima seats a total of five people comfortably in a cabin outfitted with high-end features like soft-touch materials and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment center. Big icons and a redundant knob controller around the interface ensure an easy-to-use system, whether you want to skip over to the next song or change the navigation settings. Drivers will have illuminated steering-wheel-mounted audio controls as well as a hands-free text messaging assistant for safe operation when on the road.

The total passenger volume in the 2019 Maxima is 98.5 cubic feet, and the front legroom is on the larger side at 45 inches. A compact-size trunk can adequately hold up to 14.3 cubic feet worth of luggage, hiking gear, or whatever you decide or need to pack. Since the Nissan Maxima is more of a sports sedan, its seats are firm and comfortably contoured.

One large benefit of the native infotainment center is its capability for vehicle monitoring. Some of these services include access to emergency services, speed, boundary, and curfew alerts. Being able to know the Maxima vehicle’s location is always useful if you have a teenage driver or in the case of car theft recovery.

Of course, we didn’t forget about the 2019 Maxima car’s other key safety features: Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward-Collision Warning, and Adaptive Cruise Control come standard.

We know that reading reviews is often the first step to going out and buying a new car, but you can’t truly feel the energetic and substantial disposition of the Nissan Maxima without driving it.
