The Nissan LEAF is powered by an AC synchronous electronic motor and a lithium-ion battery. It’s easy to charge and uses its 6.6-kilowatt onboard charger to provide you with an impressive driving range. There are a couple of motors and batteries to choose from, too.
The standard 110-kilowatt motor comes with a 40-kilowatt battery, while the available 160-kilowatt motor is paired with a 62-kilowatt battery. The larger motor delivers a more powerful drive, plus an EPA-estimated driving range of up to 226 miles on a single charge.1
The Nissan LEAF offers a comfortable ride, with front bucket seats and cloth upholstery. Leather seats are also available, along with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support.
The cabin features seating for five, with plenty of space to stretch your legs. Up front, you can kick back and relax with 42.1 inches of legroom.
Passengers in the back will also have ample space, with 33.5 inches of legroom. This electric hatchback also comes with lots of cargo room. With 23.6 cubic feet of space in the trunk, you’ll have room for all your bags.
While the Nissan LEAF uses the latest technology to give you an efficient drive, it also features lots of technology on the dashboard. The NissanConnect® system includes an 8-inch touchscreen and tons of smartphone compatibility.
There’s a Bluetooth® hands-free phone system, a hands-free Text Messaging Assistant, Apple CarPlay®, and Android Auto™. Plus, with Nissan Voice Recognition, you can control everything without taking your eyes off the road.
On top of being efficient, the Nissan LEAF also includes lots of smart safety features. Nissan Safety Shield® 360 comes standard and helps prevent accidents, with driver-assistance features, such as:
You’ll also be well-protected if you’re ever in an accident. The Nissan LEAF has eight airbags, including roof-mounted side-curtain airbags that cover both rows of seats.
