We have two questions for you. The first is, are you in the market for a compact SUV? If so, then there are many reasons to consider the
2017 Nissan Rogue. It pampers passengers with superior seat comfort, a ride quality that is enjoyable over a variety of terrains, user-friendly technology, and versatility in cargo storage.
Our second question is, are you a Star Wars fan? This question may sound a bit random, but here's why we ask. For 2017, the Nissan Rogue can be equipped with the Rogue One Star Wars Limited Edition package. Sure, cars designed to celebrate movies is nothing new, but the Rogue is the first automobile specifically targeting Star Wars fans.
When equipped with the Rogue One package, the Rogue shows off:
- Exterior black roof rails
- Clear rear-bumper protector with Star Wars logo
- D-pillars with Galactic Empire and Rebel Alliance logos
- Front doors with Rogue One badges
- Backlit Star Wars doorsill plates
- Cup holders and floor mats with Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire logos
- Exterior paint colors: Magnetic Black and Glacier White
But here's the catch. Since this is an exclusive model of the Rogue, there will only be 5,000 produced for the U.S. market. So if you want to be a part of the Resistance, you'll need to purchase one quick, otherwise you'll risk falling to the Dark Side.
For the true Star Wars fan, the best part of the Rogue's Star Wars package is that it includes a full-size Death Trooper helmet. Though it's probably not best to wear while driving, it will definitely be fun to wear and show off to other dedicated fans of the movies.
But there is much more to this ride that makes it an excellent choice for a compact SUV. Here are a few things that stand out most.
Trim Levels
Three trim levels make up the 2017 lineup of the Rogue – the S, SV and SL. Each provides all of the essentials, plus worthwhile features and high-tech content. The mid-range SV, for example, is a popular pick due to its generous list of items. Top features include:
- Automatic headlights
- Heated mirrors
- Keyless entry/ignition
- Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert
- Remote ignition
- Dual-zone automatic climate control
- Heated front seats
- Power driver seat
- Six-speaker audio system with SUB input and satellite radio
- 5” infotainment display
- Bluetooth phone and audio streaming
Cargo Space
Another area that makes the 2017 Rogue stand out is its strong utility. As far as compact crossovers go, the Rogue offers lots of cargo space, along with clever organization systems. For small items, you'll have access to several small trays, pockets and cup holders. For larger items, the Rogue's cargo space exceeds that of its rivals – a definite perk if you do a fair amount of traveling. With second-row seats in place, the Rogue provides 32 cubic feet of cargo space, and with these seats folded, this number expands to 70 cubic feet.
